“Massive congratulations to Jessica Gill – Flute from Basingstoke! She has won this week’s #BFSChallenge Week 19: 1 MINUTE CHALLENGE, with this amazing performance of Polka du Roitelet by Damaré. 
Jessica, who will be studying at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire from September, writes:
‘This extract is from one of many of Damaré’s polkas. This is from his piccolo Polka du Roitelet, in the Victorian era piccolo players would travel and play the polkas to entertain the townsfolk. I chose to play this piece because it has always been a favourite piccolo piece of mine and is really good fun to play. I decided to enter the challenge this week as I thought it would be fun to see how many notes I could fit into the 1 minute time limit!’
